Sri Lankans are among the top 2 percent scientists in the world!

 

According to a report by Stanford University in the United States, 24 Sri Lankans make up 2 percent of the world's leading scientists.

Among them are Professor Neelika Malavike of Jayawardenepura University, Prof. Methika Vithanage and Dr. Anushka Yu Rajapaksa.

Monster pumpkin heavier than a small car breaks world record

  A farmer from Italy has just smashed the  heaviest pumpkin  record, with a specimen that tipped the scales at 1,226 kg (2,702 lb 13.9 oz).  That’s heavier than a Nissan Micra car, or about the same as 17.5 adult men! Stefano Cutrupi celebrates his record pumpkin with fellow pumpkin growers Stefano Cutrupi (Italy) from the commune of Radda in Chianti, Tuscany, who has been growing giant pumpkins since 2008, presented the super-sized squash at the 10th edition of the Campionato della Zuccone pumpkin festival in Peccioli, near Pisa, on 26 September 2021.  t this event, also known as “Lo Zuccone” for short, it was assessed by representatives from the  Great Pumpkin Commonwealth , who confirm that the quality of the produce is good enough to be entered for competition.  Grown from seed, the pumpkin plant – a type of Atlantic giant – germinated back in March. Exploding Gas Cylinders! - The key person who posted the reason (Video)

  An industry expert has revealed the cause of the recent explosion of gas cylinders in some parts of the country. Cyril Suduwella, former head of the laboratory at the Sabugaskanda fuel refinery, made the remarks. He made the remarks in an interview with a YouTube channel. He attributed the explosion to a change in the gas composition. He pointed out that gas cylinders should contain 20 per cent propane and 80 per cent butane. However, he said that at present, butane and propane are found in 50 and 50 per cent in gas cylinders. Cyril Suduwella points out that the increase in the amount of propane in the gas cylinders is the reason why the gas cylinders explode. He noted that the truth could be exposed to the people of the country if it was allowed to conduct experiments on an independent basis.
