  An industry expert has revealed the cause of the recent explosion of gas cylinders in some parts of the country. Cyril Suduwella, former head of the laboratory at the Sabugaskanda fuel refinery, made the remarks. He made the remarks in an interview with a YouTube channel. He attributed the explosion to a change in the gas composition. He pointed out that gas cylinders should contain 20 per cent propane and 80 per cent butane. However, he said that at present, butane and propane are found in 50 and 50 per cent in gas cylinders. Cyril Suduwella points out that the increase in the amount of propane in the gas cylinders is the reason why the gas cylinders explode. A gem trader said the stone was found by workmen digging a well in his home in the gem-rich Ratnapura area.
